God Has Your Back

David is threatened by real flesh and blood enemies here, but you and I have foes that are much more crafty, insidious, and destructive. Fear, discouragement, self-pity, insecurity, resentment, anger, self-centeredness, are all everyday threats that can attack at any time, paralyzing us and stealing our peace. David also says that his nemeses taunt that God can't help him.

Sounds familiar? It's a lie. The remedy to any foe is God.

In verse 3, David famously proclaims, "But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high."

David cries out to God and God answers, sustaining, comforting, saving, and blessing David.

What enemy is plaguing you today? Turn to God, keep your eyes on God, tell your "foes" God has your back. Then, be still and wait for his deliverance.
