Jesus said to them, `Come away with me. Let us go alone to a quiet place and rest for a while...'” Mark 6:31
The last few years have been a challenging yet extraordinary season with the Lord, seeking, fasting, and praying. In late November, He invited me into quiet retreat, including a deep study on discernment through December. I've spent a lot of time in restful listening and gentle Bible study, marinating in Jesus. I'm still soaking. The rewards are priceless.
There has been a dramatic spiritual shift and an undeniable change in priorities.
The call to come away with Jesus has persisted as I work on a few intense projects.
I’m so grateful for your love, interest, and support. Still, I confess a lot of ambivalence about social media for all sorts of reasons, including that it’s a time-consuming, persistent distraction. I've felt the nudge to get off Facebook for a while but resisted until a brother in Christ recently posted that he was fasting social media. I knew right away that God was urging me to do likewise.
So, for now, I’ll be stepping away and deleting social media—namely Facebook and Instagram—from my phone. There’s no telling how long I’ll be. Those of you who get Guideposts will meet me there. If I feel led to blog, I’ll post here.
For some time now, I’ve shared that I believe God is inviting all of us to repentance, and a deeper dependence on and intimacy with Him. If you sense that, I pray you’ll respond. Being anchored in Him is more important than ever. Mind you, not church, meetings, or practices—all good maybe, but no substitute for simply Christ alone.
Peace, love, faith, and grace in Christ,
Isabella💖
I will miss these little vignettes but I will see you in Guideposts. I am a fan of Mornings with Jesus and your part in it. I pray your journey is blessed. Take care of yourself in body, mind and spirit.
